The Italian in Me
follows a doe-eyed aspiring actress as she leaves her
overbearing, old fashioned grandmother (Nonna) in Canada and
moves to Rome in search of “LA Dolce Vita.” She quickly learns
that the Eternal City is not as “Holy” or as romantic as she
imagined. As she pursues her Roman dream, everyday becomes a
sexual obstacle course filled with perverts, priests and pinches
until – when all seems lost- she meets the “Maestro” Federico
Fellini, at Cinecitta Studios, and this chance meeting will
forever change her life.
“Worthy of seeing more than once.”

“Not since ‘Moonstruck’ have I seen such
Italian wit, humor, and charm. Fabuloso!”

Named one of the
Top Ten
Actresses
of The Year on ReviewPlays.com’s 2006 Best of the Year list,
Morrone’s first time on stage was at the age of four when,
alongside her older sister, she sang at the local Italian
Banquet Hall Annual Christmas Party for 300
distracted, hungry, screaming Italians. She has gone on to work
in Canada, Italy, and the United States, as an actress, TV host,
voice over talent, and writer. While working in Rome, she had
many magical moments. The highlight of her time in the Eternal
City however, was a meeting with Federico Fellini, which
subsequently became the inspiration for a portion of her very
funny and successful one woman show
The Italian in Me.
The Italian in Me has played at the Los Angeles
Women’s Theater Festival, Pepperdine University, Theatre WEST –
WEST FEST Festival, The Feast of San Gennaro, Hollywood CA, The
Italian Cultural Institute, The Odyssey Theatre, Santa Monica
Playhouse, and The Diesel Playhouse, in Toronto, Canada.
