WONDERLAND at Santa Monica Playhouse.

Santa Monica Playhouse Young Professionals’ Company presents
WONDERLAND
One performance only before its UK premiere
WONDERLAND at Santa Monica Playhouse.

Not your middling Alice in Wonderland tale, WONDERLAND is a contemporary reworking of Lewis Carroll’s classic adventure that harnesses the looking glass sensibilities of old to up-end the tumultuous conditions of our modern existence. Get ready for a wild tumble down the rabbit hole, sip from the elixir of fantastical dreams, swim for your life in the vale of tears, and awaken to the bizarrely ungraspable chaos that is the warp and woof of your daily existence. This Wonderland may not be populated with the quaint characters you remember from your childhood meanderings, yet it holds the key to the inner life of a present-day world that is as ironically frightening as a battle with the vilest Jabberwalk, as absurdly wry as a dance with the Walrus and the Carpenter, as fraught with peril as a head-on (or is it head off?) confrontation with the Queen of Hearts.
