LAURA

Nina's estranged and only daughter, Laura, comes home for an unexpected visit, forcing them to confront painful truths about themselves and their relationship - and the ultimate revelation may be too much to bear.
LAURA was a winner among the 2016 Ebell of Los Angeles Playwright Prize; this is its first time being staged. LAURA marks Silvetti’s debut as playwright and theatre director.
Jessica Silvetti is an award-winning writer and director whose distinctive voice is a result of her unconventional upbringing. Originally from Mexico City, of Spanish descent and raised in the U.S., she has been shaped by different cultures and views life through a bilingual lens. has written and directed the short films: HAPPY FOR NOTHING, GOODBYE, GLANCES and POOR MAN’S MERMAID, as well as co-directed the feature film PROBLEM OF EVIL. She wrote and directed the bilingual web series, LOST MEMORIES and was recognized with a Breaking Boundaries – Visionary Women’s Award for her impacting work spotlighting Alzheimer’s in the Latino community. Her latest web series, IN ABSENTIA, an anthology she wrote and directed with her creative partner, Ethan Kogan, is streaming on Seed & Spark.
